FALL FESTIVAL OF MUSIC
Celebrating French Music and Cultue
Oct. 20th-Nov. 6th, 2011

FESTIVAL CALENDAR & TICKETS

The mission of the Ohana Arts Fall Festival of music is to spread awareness of social, historical, political, and cultural issues through classical music. Each year, the week-long festival will focus on a particular theme, paying tribute to it through relevant music, involving Hawaii’s finest musicians, as well as musicians and artists with established careers on the mainland. This year, the festival makes its debut celebrating French music and culture.

The festival will present a series of chamber music concerts and educational workshops featuring the works of Gabriel Faure, Ernest Chausson, Claude Debussy, among many others.  In addition, the festival will conclude with fully staged production of “La Voix Humaine,” a one-act, one-woman opera by the composer Francis Poulenc, and libretto by Jean Cocteau (based on his 1932 play).

Festival artists include the Momenta Quartet, Jonathan Korth, Rachel Schutz, Maya Hoover, Laurie Rubin, the Hawaii Vocal Arts Ensemble, and more.
